The final edition of the Vivisect Playset opened and I was lucky enough to be involved alongside Alex Pardee, Amy Sol, Luke Chueh, and Travis Louie among others.
Here is the first of the three paintings I had in the show.

I have recently been showing work at gallery 1988 in San Francisco and Los Angeles, this is a piece I had in the vivisect playset V show last winter. This year is the last year of the vivisect art show and I was invited back again so I'm starting work for the show now. The show will be at gallery 1988 in Los Angeles this December. here is a link to last years work:

it's been sometime so I thought I'd let you know that I and my wife Jessica have had a baby girl named Indigo Wren, for about eight months. we've decided to keep her on as long as she pulls her weight. all she has to do is breath and she's pulled her weight though. plus she's a snappy dresser. Indigo was born the day before Jessica's birthday. I like to say they hold hands on the calendar. I, in the meantime, have gotten more and more busy with my dayjob and have been barely getting work done for a gallery in California, I've been in some group shows and I'm still being in group shows, so I'll post stuff as it comes along. I'll have a bigger show in LA this summer so I'll be posting more work more regularly, and also I hope to make some tshirts to post here for fun because my job is basically making tshirts for other people and I feel like making some for me! hope everyone is enjoying the onset of fall as much as us,

I can't believe it's been two months since I've painted.
I've been pretty far from the studio lately, but I'm going to get back to it real soon.

Here is a print I did for an arts council fundraiser last week.
It's a bastardized mutant from an older painting I did.

allright, I'm going to do a painting next week, I'm depressed that I haven't been able to lately. My studio's a freaking mess, I've been working on the house... other things. If I don't get a painting done soon ... I suck.

hey everybody,

I'm late this week because I love my wife and it's valentine's
day and we also had Jessica's birthday in kansas city over the weekend,
and I was glued to the tellie for the primaries and I ran out of plexi
and have to cut more down, and my backs hurting me, and no ones reading
this, and I'm a lazy, lazy no good lousy jerk*.

*see above when I blamed my love for Jessica as a reasonfor being late.

So I'm stalling for time with a bonus behind the scenes featurette!

these are some sketches for it.

It doesn't feel right yet, I know what background pattern I'm using but
- the bear is not black enough and the baby is too big and he needs to
be looking up not down, and the bear needs to be looking past him not
at him. should he have a forest around him? just walking on leaves?
These things will make a big difference when I get finished with it.

Here it is with some layers from the other paintings, I'm just trying
out some things, but I'm fairly certain this one will be simple almost
like this.
we will see.
I'll post the finished painting as soon as I can. And I'll have a new painting ready for friday next week.

Sorry, I won't make a habit of this.

it's kind of cheesy doing a political painting, usually I feel art
should transcend individuals and should represent something more
ethereal. Looking at a painting should not present an answer but
instead stimulate new thoughts. I did a Barack Obama painting. I've
been paying attention to him since he spoke at the Democratic
convention a few years ago - I don't want to go into alot of specifics
about why I like him except that when I hear him speak I am inspired,
he's an artist.
